Zahar and Chegaga are often treated as separate destinations. This circuit joins them through the country between, then keeps the return to M’Hamid on foot. From Sidi Naji and Zmila, the route approaches Zahar before continuing through Smar, Sedra and Laghrair towards Chegaga. The second dune field is reached through a journey, not a transfer between two photographs.
The return follows the oasis corridor, Bougarn, Oued Naam and Bertham. That different line gives the circuit its purpose: you see how the dune country relates to firmer ground, vegetation and the approaches to the oasis. There is no scheduled full rest day, so choose it for sustained walking and be realistic about your ability to enjoy consecutive stages.
The camels carry the main luggage and camping load. Guiding, tents, mattresses, meals and drinking water during the trek are included, with eleven nights in mobile camps. The guide adjusts passages and camp positions to the conditions; an oued name does not promise flowing water, and a water point is not a bathing facility.
On day twelve, the caravan completes the walk back towards M’Hamid and you stay at camp. Day thirteen is reserved for onward travel to Marrakech or another agreed city. The city transfer and any arrival arrangements before the M’Hamid start are set out separately in your quote. This is the choice for a complete walking circuit between the two dune areas, with an unhurried finish before the road journey.
