A two-week walking journey asks you to make room for the desert in practical ways. You keep a small collection of day essentials, walk through successive landscapes and rest in camps chosen for the caravan’s needs. The experience develops through that continuity and the team’s daily work.
I’m Khalil, a Sahraoui guide born in the desert. This route connects Sidi Naji, Zmila and Zahar with Smar, the corridors towards Iriki and Chegaga, then the return through the oasis, Bougarn and Bertham. A local day around Zahar gives time to remain in one sector as well as move onwards.
The fourteen-day expedition differs from the twelve-day Iriki crossing by keeping the return towards M’Hamid on foot. It is a substantial commitment to repeated walking and simple camp life, with thirteen mobile nights. The guide chooses suitable passages and camp positions for the conditions; the itinerary does not promise the same dry basin surface on every departure.
Guiding, luggage camels, tents, mattresses, trekking meals and drinking water are included. The caravan carries the main load, but you still manage your own daily effort. Tell the guide about fatigue early, use the breaks and choose this trip because you want the walking and camping to form the greater part of the holiday.
The programme begins and ends in M’Hamid. Travel from other cities, extra nights and services outside the itinerary are separate. Send your dates, group size and multi-day walking experience for a quote in euros.
