This twelve-day crossing is for walkers interested in how the desert changes. It starts in M’Hamid, follows the Zahar and Smar corridors and continues through Oum Tobgane and El Aalem towards the Iriki basin. The route then reaches the Erg Lroul and Chegaga sectors before the final walking stage towards the oasis corridor.
I’m Khalil, a Sahraoui guide born in the desert. On a crossing like this, I want you to understand why a route is chosen. Open ground can look straightforward, but surface conditions and the needs of the caravan shape the actual line. The guide’s decisions are part of the experience of travelling here.
Eleven mobile nights and a local exploration day in the Iriki sector give the crossing room to develop. That day lets you look more closely at one landscape and recover from continuous movement. Wildlife sightings, fossil collecting and archaeological visits are not included activities.
Guide, luggage camels, tents, mattresses, trekking meals and drinking water are included. You walk with the day essentials while the caravan transports the main load. Camping is simple, and the actual line and camp positions respond to the ground conditions.
On day twelve, an organised 4×4 returns the group to M’Hamid; that return is included. This gives the route a wider crossing rather than a repeated walk back. Marrakech transfers and extra nights are separate. Request a quote in euros for your dates and party.
