3-Day Shared Marrakech to Fes Desert Tour via Merzouga

We meet at the confirmed Marrakech pickup point and leave with the group for the High Atlas. In a shared departure, timing matters, so the first part of the day is organized around the road rather than individual hotel-by-hotel detours. Comfort and photo stops are made where they improve the journey for the group.

After the mountain crossing, Aït Ben Haddou gives the day its first real cultural stop. There is time to walk through the earthen ksar before continuing through Ouarzazate and the southern valleys toward Dadès.

The first night is in the Dadès region. Dinner and breakfast are included according to the confirmed shared package. The aim is to finish the day comfortably rather than push all the way to the dunes.

Leaving Dadès, the route passes Tinghir and reaches Todra Gorge, where the group has time to get out and walk between the high rock walls. It is an important break before the longer approach to Merzouga.

As the landscape opens toward the Tafilalt, the road becomes drier and the first dunes eventually appear near Erg Chebbi. We plan the day so the group reaches Merzouga with enough time for the desert transfer.

Camp access is by camel or, when arranged in advance, by 4x4. After sunset, dinner and the overnight camp experience are shared with other travelers, while tent arrangements follow the confirmed booking category.

After breakfast, the shared vehicle heads north toward Fes. The Ziz Valley is the main landscape change of the morning, with palm groves cutting through an otherwise dry region.

The road continues through Midelt and the Middle Atlas. Stops depend on traffic, weather and the group’s progress; we keep them useful rather than turning the day into a checklist.

Arrival is in Fes at the confirmed accessible drop-off point. For medina riads, the final pedestrian connection may require a short walk or local transfer. A guided Fes visit is not compressed into this road day and is better planned separately.
