13-Day Spring Morocco Tour: Chefchaouen, Sahara, Rose Valley & Imlil

March to May brings an unusual combination: greener Rif hills, comfortable desert temperatures, rose-growing country and High Atlas trails that may still carry snow on the highest peaks.

This itinerary is deliberately seasonal. It begins with Rabat and two nights around Chefchaouen, where spring can bring greener hills and better walking conditions than midsummer. Fes follows before the route crosses the Middle Atlas to Erg Chebbi for a full desert day and camp night.

Instead of moving directly to Marrakech, the return west gives the Rose Valley two nights so the agricultural landscape and seasonal rose culture have room to matter. The final section goes through Skoura, Aït Ben Haddou and Marrakech before two nights in Imlil. Spring weather can still change quickly in the mountains, so walking routes remain flexible rather than promising a fixed trail regardless of conditions.
