Arrival in Casablanca, Rabat Visit & Transfer to Chefchaouen
Your 7-day Morocco itinerary begins in Casablanca, Morocco’s largest city and one of the country’s main international gateways. After arrival at Casablanca airport or pickup from your hotel, meet your driver and start the journey with an introduction to Morocco’s Atlantic coast, modern city life, and architectural heritage.
Depending on your arrival time, the first major visit can be the Hassan II Mosque, one of Morocco’s most impressive landmarks. Built beside the Atlantic Ocean, the mosque is known for its oceanfront position, tall minaret, carved plaster, marble details, zellij tilework, and refined Moroccan craftsmanship. It is also one of the few mosques in Morocco that can be visited by non-Muslim travelers during official guided tours, depending on the schedule.
After Casablanca, continue north toward Rabat, Morocco’s capital city and one of the country’s imperial cities. Rabat offers a calmer and more elegant first contact with Moroccan history. Possible visits include the Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, the Kasbah of the Oudaias, and the Chellah ruins, where Roman and Islamic remains stand together inside old walls.
Later in the day, continue toward Chefchaouen, the blue mountain town of the Rif Mountains. The road gradually changes from coastal and urban landscapes to greener hills and mountain scenery. Chefchaouen is known for its blue-painted streets, whitewashed houses, quiet alleys, small squares, and peaceful atmosphere.
After arrival and check-in, enjoy a relaxed walk through the medina. You can sit in Plaza Uta el-Hammam with mint tea, browse small artisan shops, or walk toward a viewpoint if time allows. This first night in Chefchaouen gives the trip a softer rhythm before continuing toward Fes and the Sahara Desert in the following days.
