The evening is free to relax at your luxury hotel or riad, enjoy Rabat’s calm atmosphere, and prepare for the next day’s journey toward Chefchaouen and the Rif Mountains.

The evening is free for dinner at your own pace, with recommendations from your driver, riad, or local contact. This day is designed to feel relaxed and beautiful, giving you time to enjoy Chefchaouen’s charm before continuing toward Fes the next day.

Begin with a scenic drive from the Rif Mountains toward Meknes, an imperial city known for its calmer medina, historic gates, royal architecture, gardens, old walls, and traditional souks. Compared with Fes, Meknes feels more compact and relaxed, making it a pleasant place to walk, browse, and understand another side of Morocco’s royal past.
Depending on timing and opening conditions, the visit may include the Ville Impériale area, Bab Mansour, old palace surroundings, medina streets, or other historic landmarks. Your driver or guide can help adapt the stop according to your interests and pace.
Continue to Moulay Idriss, one of Morocco’s most important spiritual towns. Set on the hills above the surrounding countryside, this historic town is connected to the Idrisid dynasty and early Moroccan history. If timing allows, stop for lunch or a short walk and enjoy the atmosphere of this sacred hilltop place.
The next major stop is Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Morocco’s best-preserved Roman archaeological site. Walk among ancient streets, columns, temples, arches, merchant houses, visible heating systems, and mosaics that still show the sophistication of Roman-era life in North Africa.
If you want a deeper visit, a private guide can be arranged to explain the ruins, Roman urban design, trade history, and the cultural layers that shaped the region.
By late afternoon or early evening, continue to Fes and check into your luxury riad. After the road journey, enjoy the comfort of a courtyard, lounge area, hammam if available, or a quiet dinner at the riad or in one of Fes’ refined restaurants.

After breakfast at your luxury riad, meet your private local guide and begin a full cultural exploration of Fes, one of Morocco’s most fascinating imperial cities. Known for its deep history, living craftsmanship, spiritual heritage, and maze-like medina, Fes offers one of the richest guided experiences in the country.
Start with the UNESCO-listed medina, where narrow streets, covered markets, traditional bakeries, fountains, mosques, madrasas, old caravanserais, and artisan quarters create a world that feels almost untouched by time. With your guide, you can move through the medina comfortably while learning about the stories, neighborhoods, and traditions that shaped the city.
Depending on the confirmed route, the visit may include Bab Boujloud, Bou Inania Madrasa, Al Attarine Madrasa, Nejjarine Square, historic fondouks, the surroundings of Al-Qarawiyyin, and panoramic viewpoints over the old city. Your guide can adjust the visit around architecture, history, photography, shopping, food, or craftsmanship.
In the afternoon, discover the artisan side of Fes. Visit traditional workshops where local craftspeople work with leather, brass, copper, ceramics, zellige mosaics, wood, textiles, and other heritage crafts. Fes is one of the best places in Morocco to see these skills still practiced with patience and precision.
A visit to the tanneries may also be included, where leather is treated and dyed using traditional methods. From a viewpoint above the tannery, you can observe one of the most iconic scenes in Fes while learning how leather production remains connected to the city’s economy and identity.
After the guided visit, return to your riad for time to rest in the courtyard, enjoy tea, or book a hammam, massage, or spa treatment if available. For travelers who want a deeper culinary experience, a private cooking class with a local chef can be arranged if included in the confirmed package.
The evening is free. You may enjoy dinner at your riad, choose one of Fes’ refined restaurants, or continue exploring selected areas of the medina with recommendations from your guide or local contact.

Located beyond Fes, Guerrouane is known for fertile soil, orchards, vineyards, seasonal fruit, and countryside scenery. This day offers a different rhythm from the imperial city experience, giving you time to enjoy open landscapes, local production, and Morocco’s lesser-known wine heritage.
If included in the confirmed package, visit a winery or vineyard estate for a private tour and tasting. During the visit, you can learn about grape cultivation, regional climate, winemaking traditions, and the historical influences that shaped wine production in this part of Morocco.
The experience may include a walk through the vineyard, an introduction to production methods, and a tasting of selected Moroccan wines such as red blends, rosé, vin gris, or other local styles. The visit can be adapted for travelers who prefer a non-alcoholic experience, focusing instead on agriculture, orchards, countryside landscapes, and local products.
The Guerrouane region is also known for orchard fruits such as apricots, plums, oranges, and other seasonal produce, making the day feel connected to the wider farming traditions of the area.
After the visit, return to Fes in the afternoon. The rest of the day is free to relax at your luxury riad, enjoy tea in the courtyard, book a hammam or massage if available, or dine at one of the city’s refined restaurants.

Travel through the Middle Atlas Mountains toward Azrou, where cedar forests and cooler mountain air create a peaceful change of scenery. If timing allows, stop near the Cèdre Gouraud Forest, known for its ancient cedar trees and Barbary macaques that live in the area.
Continue toward Midelt, a town set between mountain and desert landscapes. This is a good place for a comfortable lunch stop before the road continues through broad valleys, rocky slopes, canyon passages, and the Ziz Valley, one of southeastern Morocco’s most beautiful oasis routes.
As you travel through the Ziz Valley, look out for palm groves, fortified houses, desert-edge villages, and landscapes once connected to the ancient Saharan trade routes. The scenery gradually changes as the first signs of the desert begin to appear.
Pass through Erfoud, a town known for dates and fossil workshops. If included and timing allows, stop at a local fossil artisan collective to learn how ancient stone is cut, polished, and transformed into decorative objects and furniture.
By late afternoon, reach the Merzouga area, where the Erg Chebbi dunes rise from the desert. From here, continue toward your luxury desert camp by camel ride or 4x4 transfer, depending on the confirmed package and your preference.

Spend time walking through the gorge, taking photos, enjoying the cool canyon atmosphere, or exploring short trails around the area. More active travelers can include a deeper walk if arranged, while others can enjoy a gentler visit focused on scenery and relaxation.

Walk through the narrow lanes, climb toward the upper viewpoints if you wish, and take in the surrounding landscape of dry riverbeds, clay-colored buildings, palm groves, and mountain horizons. Aït Benhaddou offers one of the strongest visual moments of the journey, connecting southern Morocco’s kasbah heritage with the old trade routes between the Sahara and Marrakech.
After the visit, continue toward the High Atlas Mountains. The road climbs through Berber villages, valleys, mountain slopes, and panoramic viewpoints before reaching the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, one of Morocco’s most scenic road crossings.
