7 Days Trekking Toubkal National Park Berber Villages

The Toubkal Trek consists of 7 days trekking in the Atlas Mountains, combining beautiful panoramas with the time to explore Berber villages and culture. From the first day of trekking you will be immersed in everyday Berber life watching the locals working in their terraced fields and tending to their animals. This itinerary involves early starts and strenuous trekking days, moving from camp/gites to camp/gites each day but you will be rewarded with many fine photo opportunities, in particular at the summit of Jebel Toubkal 4167m. At the end of the day you will be able to relax in village cafes and enjoy a cup of mint tea or paddle alongside refreshing rivers.

Day 1marrakech - high atlas trek

journey to tassa ouirgane (1,500m) within the ouirgane valley, wherein we begin our
trek to tiziane (1,800m). our course takes us thru the juniper and redwood forests of the tassa national park and alongside the beautiful red-dirty azzadene valley. as we skip out from the forests there are stunning views of the encompassing mountains and we encounter small isolated hamlets and villages.

Day 2trek to tizgui

our course takes us out of the azzadene valley and up to the pass of tizi ‘n touati, from wherein there’s a majestic landscape of the high atlas variety. we then descend through a forest of alright and beyond villages with stonewalled sheep pens. in a single day tenting close to tizgui at azib assoul (2,300m).

Day 3trek to tizi oussem

we go the tizi ‘n tagoudalte bypass (2,700m) from where we have views of the western excessive atlas mountain variety. we then have a long descent thru alpine areas overgrown with wildflowers and herbs, and observe a river beyond terraced fields and groves of walnut trees, to the village of tizi oussem (1,900m). loose afternoon to loosen up or explore the village. overnight in a gite.

Day 4trek to aremd

trek to a small waterfall at azib tamsoulte and go back to cross the tizi ‘n mzik bypass (2,500m). we be a part of the principle toubkal valley at aremd (1,900m), in which we spend the night time in a village gite.

Day 5trek to toubkal refuge

today we gradually ascend the toubkal valley, via the pilgrimage hamlet of sidi chamarouch, to the toubkal safe haven (three,200m). we camp at the foot of mt toubkal.next the walk resumes alongside mule trails and past escarpments thru the tizi n’aguerssiouâl bypass (1,767m) and directly to the village of aguerssiouâl inside the assif n’ aït mizane valley (2,664m) and then south back up the valley toward the peaks of jbel toubkal, aguelzim and aksouâl to the villages of taddart and aït souka wherein the stroll heads east again in imlil prior to pressure to marrakech at the afternoon.

Day 6summit mt toubkal

an early start for the challenging trek to the summit of mt toubkal, the highest mountain in north africa at four,167m. we go back to our base camp near the safe haven for the night.

Day 7trek to imlil – marrakech

our trek ends with an easy descent through the village of sidi chamarouch to imlil. we bid our manual and muleteers a fond farewell and force to marrakech, in which the the rest of the day is unfastened.
