Camel Trek 9 Days To Erg Chegaga, The Desert Hike in Morocco is a walk in the big dunes of southern Morocco with a professional nomadic guide and camel drivers. A camel caravan carries the luggage. The fascination of desert immensities, an unusual encounter with nomads, study and observation of animal and plant life, relaxation, silence, and total forgetfulness of civilization and the modern world in absolute calm in the heart of the great desert of the Moroccan Sahara, at sunrise and unforgettable sunsets. During the hike, you live according to the rhythm and the intensity of the sun, everyone advances at his pace accompanied by the camel drivers. Before each stage departure, they gather the camels, who have fed on desert shrubs during the night, collect the wood for the fire, prepare the tea, make the bread baked in the sand.

DAY 1 : MARRAKECH –ATLAS MOUNTAINS – KASBAH AIT BEN HADOU – M’HAMID
Departure early morning from your riad/hotel in Marrakech and travel through the High Atlas Mountains via the Tichka Pass (2260 m) the highest road pass in Morocco offering spectacular panoramic views of the mountains and valleys with a snaky road, beautiful landscapes with different colors and the Berber villages along the way. Visit several kasbahs along the way, including Tamnougalte and Ait Benhaddou. A 16th century UNESCO site, Ait Benhaddou is one of the best-preserved and most spectacular kasbahs in Morocco. A famous site for Hollywood films, The trip continues through the palm-lined Draa river valley. Arrival in Zagora the capital of dates. Afterward, continuation towards the gateSahara desert, Mhamid with Khalil. Dinner and night in camp In Nomadic standard camp.
DAY : 2 FISRT DAY TREK –M’HAMID – RAS NEKHAL–SIDI NAJI
After breakfast In the camp, we leave on foot From Mhamid, accompanied by the guide and the camel caravan. hiking in the desert of the Sahara and head for the Palm Grove. Tea and lunch will be served in the shade of Tamaris.After a rest, we leave to the sanctuary of Sidi Naji. Oral tradition relates that this marabout lived there, 18 grandfathers! A place full of history and local custom. the bivouac will set at the foot of the sand dunes At night.
DAY 3 : SIDI NAJI – LHDIBAT
on the rhythm of the sun, we continue to reach Lhdibate through the Sahara desert. we across in our way the water well in the Draa River and crossing old places where nomad families used to live maybe this day will allow you to meet a nomadic shepherd or a dromedary. on the sunrise of the sun, we set our camp near the well
DAY 4 :ERG ZAHAR-ERG SAMAR-ERG SEDRA
After the beautiful night in Er Zahar and the delicious breakfast, we start our way to the old city in the desert still you can see the old building and have It is fascinated place where the first city for nomadic people was built, we stop under the shade of the Tamarist and have lunch and after we walk 2 hours to erg sedra where we will meet the night and sing songs from our traditions and made sand bread.
DAY 5: ERG SEDRA-ERG CHIGAGA
This day you will see the biggest dune In Morocco Erg Chegaga 300 miter high and like 15 km of dunes where you can find difficult to get out of, the way to Erg Chegaga is beautiful with so many green plants that are very patient for water, in the evening we set the camp and enjoy the breath taken view from the top where you can see the people very small.
DAY 6:ERG CHIGAGA-OUAD LAATACH-KREAAT JMAL
Wake up on beautiful view with the desert breeze playing with your faces, we start our day with delicious breakfast, after loading the camel start of plateau way with a huge area of any rocks and slopes where you can find the fossil and meteorite from the march and the moon, In the half of the plateau we will stop for lunch in a place called Ouad Laatach (the river of dirty), where a lot of Berber nomads came to take water from the well, after that, we finish the plateau to stop Kraaite Jmal at the first Tamarist where we will set the camp. and spend the night.
DAY 7:KREAAT JAMA-OUAD NAAD
Karrte Jmal (the foot of camels) after breakfast we head to Ouad Naam the road will be beautiful and green in winter where you will see so many wild camels and meet nomad people and you may drink camel milk, after lunch near the well of Wad Naam we will walk 2h crossing desert forset to Lour where you will spend the night.
DAY 8:OUAD NAAD-MHAMID
After spending the last night in the desert, we will head back To Mhmid with 3 hours walking to reach The cam where you will have a shower and lunch and dinner.
DAY 9:MHAMID-MARRAKECH

Early morning departure from your guest-house, to re-trace the journey north to Marrakech (as per Day 1). Expect to arrive at your riad/hotel in Marrakech late afternoon.
